The Guyana Association of Trawler Owners and Seafood Processors (GATOSP) was formed on 15th September, 1999. The registered address of the association is area ‘k’ Houston, east bank Demerara, Guyana, south America.

Guyana is the only English speaking country in the Caribbean to obtain Marine Stewardship Council certification. The Seabob fishery was MSC certified in 2019.
